Riyadh – Mubasher: Saudi Arabian Cooperative Insurance Company (SAICO) has appointed of Khalid Ali A. Ballow as the firm’s Acting CEO to be effective as of 21 May 2026, according to a bourse filing.

The appointment was confirmed by the company’s board of directors on 20 May, as SAICO moves to ensure leadership continuity within its executive management team.

The decision to appoint Ballow was a strategic move that places an experienced internal candidate at the helm of the company on an acting basis.

The new Acting CEO’s transition into the role follows his most recent tenure as the Vice President for Sales and Business Development at SAICO, a position that has allowed him to play a significant role in the company’s market positioning and business growth strategies.

He has over 27 years of experience in the insurance sector, while his history with SAICO is particularly extensive as it spans 16 years since he first joined the company in 2010. During this period, he has ascended through the corporate ranks, gaining a thorough understanding of the company’s internal operations and the broader regulatory environment in which it operates.

Ballow brings a comprehensive educational background to the position, characterized by both academic degrees and specialized professional certifications.

He earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in 2008 from the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport in Egypt.

Meanwhile, his foundational academic training was completed at King Saud University in Riyadh, where he graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Administrative Sciences in 1998.

To complement his academic achievements, Ballow obtained several professional qualifications relevant to the insurance and business sectors. In 2003, he completed a professional diploma in marketing from the Riyadh Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Furthermore, he holds a Professional Insurance Certificate (PIC) from the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII), a qualification facilitated through the Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance.
